The Freshest Produce Right Outside our Door
Come on, who doesn’t enjoy a fresh, ripe tomato picked right off the vine that day?! How about taking the memory of that flavor and beefing it up with ribbons of fragrant basil, a light drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar along with fresh ground salt and pepper? That is exactly what our guests are currently enjoying as their dinner starter at Cedar Crest Lodge.
Why stop there? Lettuces, asparagus, spinach, peas and green beans also shine their light during guest meals at our Kansas Bed and Breakfast. In fact, there isn’t much that we do not grow in our large, organic garden here in the countryside. Our garden staff works tirelessly at starting the majority of our produce from seed long before our guests get to enjoy it sometimes still warm from the sun. Many of our tomatoes are heirloom varieties that are unique in color and flavor which makes for a beautiful presentation and taste.
As the saying goes in Kansas, “Make hay while the sun shines” . . . Now is the time to take advantage of the bounty being offered fresh from the garden – just a few steps away from the dining area. It doesn’t get much better than that! Book your late summer getaway now!
