Gardening seems to be such a temperamental beast. Even when utilizing the same methods year after year, each season will turn out differently. In our part of the country we have had more rain than normal (usually a good thing for growers); however, the excess moisture has our okra plants floating and our tomatoes cracking.
To see all of the flowering plants, it appears as though things may be looking up down the road a bit once it dries out. This is actually GOOD news for a fall harvest! Just when we thought the fresh produce might be drying up, we will probably be experiencing more than normal – just a little later than usual.
So, don’t forget to take advantage of this farm-to-table goodness when making reservations for the fall. If you can’t stay the night, no problem; we will still be serving dinners open to the public any night Wednesday through Sunday. Plan to join us soon for your share of the bounty!
